Week report from Istria

Last week we saw climbing action all around Istria. The most remarkable ascents were:
Italian guy Fabio De Cesero from Belluno achieved in his first 9a ever – Halupca 1979 in the big cave of Osp. Besides his first 9a redpoint, he also onsighted Helihopter v omaki (8b) in the same cave.
In Mišja peč Slovakian champion Stefan Bednar fired the hard and bouldery Matrix (8b).
Slovenian lead competitor Domen Škofic visited for the first time the secret area called Skedenj near Sežana where in one day onsighted Sex and candy (8a+), Sežana 31249 (8b), El trabajo del borracho (8b+) and flashed Vision (8b). Also he putted some effort in trying the new hard project in that impressive summer crag.
Slovenian boulder competitor Jernej Kruder showed up in Medveja and onsighted Venga vecchio (8a) and the classic Criogenetica (8a+).
Kamena vrata near Buzet is the currently one of the most popular crags of Istria: Goran Matika aka Gogo did the first repeat of Klemen Bečan’s 30 meters long slab called Snejkuljčica (8b), Luka Zazvonil and Matej Sova redpointed Bonsai (8b) and Jure Golob clipped the anchor of Zvuči teško (8b).
