Mathieu Bouyoud & family crushing in Osp cave + more
The summer heat hasn’t stopped strong ascents and exciting updates across Istria! Here’s what’s been happening lately in and around Istria! French climber from Chambery, Mathieu Bouyoud spent his summer holidays in the enormous Osp cave with his family, and despite the scorching 30+°C temps, he put together an impressive ticklist:
- Waterworld (9a)
- Halupca 1979 (9a)
- Active discharge (8b+) – onsight!
- Bitka s stalaktiti (8b) – onsight!
- Osapska pošast (8b+/c) – second go
- Working Class Hero (8b+)
- Helihopter v omaki (8a+) – onsight!
- Troja (8a) – onsight!

- Laokoon (8a) – onsight!

While the kids were building sandcastles on the floor of Osp cave, Mathieu Bouyoud’s wife, Amandine Lonchambon (37), also made the most of the trip, sending in the steep Osp cave:
- Troja (8a)
- Laokoon (8a)
Veronika Sancin strikes in Baratro
Meanwhile in secret shady crag above Trieste, Baratro, Veronika Sancin had a stellar couple of days, sending her hardest routes ever:
