Bacer & Sudar up to 9a, Remškar & Gaeta first 8c’s
The spring climbing season in Mišja peč is already delivering impressive ascents. Several climbers have recently achieved major personal milestones, including two ascents of the elite 9a grade, alongside multiple first 8c redpoints and other notable sends across the Osp region.
Luca Bacer repeats Xaxid hostel (9a)
Italian climber Luca Bacer recently completed the demanding Xaxid hostel (9a) in the central sector of Mišja peč. The route is known for its long, technical climbing on bad crimps and sustained endurance.
This ascent marks Bacer’s second 9a, following his repeat of Sanjski par extension (9a) in 2024. The line has become one of the most respected endurance challenges at the crag. You can see more from the ascent on his Instagram post.
Zan Lovenjak Sudar sends Sanjski par extension (9a)
Another impressive performance came from Slovenian climber Zan Lovenjak Sudar, who climbed Sanjski par extension (9a) in Tedi’s Cave, located in the left part of Mišja peč.
This is Sudar’s first real 9a. What initially started as a winter training project turned into a challenging mental battle on the route.
“What was supposed to be a winter training route quickly turned into quite a stressful anchor siege. Somehow, between great conditions and bad beta, I managed to drop the 7b part (twice). In the end, the 7th session, in not the best conditions, was enough. Thanks to @tim.korosec for sharing the process with me. You’re next.”

Just a few meters to the right, Italian climber Davide Gaeta also reached a new personal best, clipping the chains of the technical and crimpy Vizija (8c).

Eva Dana Vidmar celebrated her first 8b with a send of the Mišja peč classic Mrtvaški ples (8b).
Jakob Šparovec ticked the 40-meter endurance test Millennium (8b+), a spectacular line that finishes through the large overhang dominating the central wall of Mišja peč.
Meanwhile in Osp’s Babna sector, Brin Debevec climbed the area’s hardest route, Veper lady (8b).
Hard send in Lijak
Further north in the sunny and wind-protected Lijak near Nova Gorica, Nina Landekar redpointed the delicate and technical Venezia (8a), a crimpy testpiece that demands precise footwork and excellent route reading.
Costiera cleaning day near Trieste

The action is organized by Progetto Verticale Trieste.
