Luca Bacer sent his first 9a: Sanjski par extension in Mišja peč
Our good friend, local climber from Trieste, Luca Bacer climbed his first 9a: Sanjski par extension in Mišja peč. On his social media Luca wrote:” Finally! After a long season marked by some very good attempts, during which I fell 8 times after the first chain, on Thursday (7th of March) I finally sent the extension. This was the first time in a long while that I projected a route and the process has never been as emotional and instructive as here: sharing moments, beta and climbing ethics with other strong climbers under this roof has been just awesome. More importantly, this route made me discover the pleasure of not just climbing the line, but also of playing with the same moves that the first climbers used, without kneepads and all the way to the top on the underclings. Climbing this route in any other way wouldn’t have provided me with the same satisfaction. A small dream I’ve always had, ever since I was a child, has come true, and now I’m psyched to try even harder. My thanks go to all those who belayed me up in the cave, and to my family and @anna_calici for their continuous support from home.”
Bravo Luca, you are a legend!
Besides Luca’s ascent we noticed also some other remarkable achievements.
Stefano Carnati flashed Blood sugar sex magic (8a) and Tretje tisočletje (8a) in Mišja peč while other Italian, Luca Casadei redpointed the chipped classic Mrtvaški ples (8b).
The weather forecast for Istria looks really great: couple of days of cloudy weather then sunny again, all the time with perfect temperatures for climbing.
Enjoy the rocks!
